Prayer for Beginning the Journey

Jesus, I no longer own my life, it belongs to You. I give up all rights to my dreams and I exchange them for Your dreams for me. I renounce the things I feel I deserve, for the great honor and privilege of devoting my life to following You and doing the things You deserve, Jesus.

I promise to love You with all my heart, all my soul and all my might! I want to see You honored and Your reputation spread.

I trust Your heart to lead me and am completely confident in Your wisdom and love to lead me to a better place.

I admit such weakness but I am confident that You will release Your power through the Holy Spirit to do all the impossible things You call me to do. I believe your power can work miracles to change my heart and make me like You!

I promise to love You more than I love my friends, my family, my job, my possessions. Whenever I discover that You have slipped from being my first love, I promise to return to You with all my heart and recommit myself and my heart to You.

I will eagerly obey You no matter what the cost and accept whatever suffering occurs knowing that You will never leave Me nor forsake me.

I trust Your word that Your love will never end, that You will prepare an adventure for me each day with You, and that You are infinitely good, kind and loving.

I promise to passionately seek to know You better each day through your word, through fellowship with others, through Your church, and through the events of each day. I will listen for Your voice and will follow You moment by moment. I will invite you to every event, conversation and project each day. I invite You to be my honored guest in every event of my life and to set my eyes on You!

I trust that Your sacrifice on the cross is sufficient to remove every obstacle to my entering the presence of God as His child, completely forgiven and eagerly received!
